VINTAGE VACATION SWAP - what I gave!

I don't know what is more fun about a swap - giving or getting! Jenny of Everyday is a Holiday hosted an awesome Vintage Vacation Swap and I went crazy getting my box of goodies together for 1 Hungry Hippie. For more info on the swap and to see what she sent me, check out the post below.
When we emailed back and forth, Natalie, my swap partner, was so excited that I was from Brooklyn (even though I am not; I'm from Queens.) I will admit it, Brooklyn is cool and if I were a tourist I would head straight to Coney Island for a ride on the Cyclone, then check out the McCarren Farmer's Market in Williamsburg, then eat at Paulie Gee's in Greenpoint and then visit Queens! So I decided to make Natalie a box of Local Vintage Brooklyn Goodies plus a Homemade Insider Guide to Brooklyn. (And by homemade I mean glue sticked to the millionth degree!)
Locally grown and handmade goods are really the word on the Brooklyn streets these days, so for the edible goods portion I sent Natalie some Local Strawberry Ginger Jam made by yours truly, a Mast Brothers Almond and Sea Salt Dark Chocolate Bar, some Domestic Peppermint Tea and Andrew's Local Rooftop Honey. I also put in a recent copy of Edible Brooklyn Magazine and a mug cozy from the Meat Hook, a really awesome Brooklyn kitchen gadget store and amazing butcher shop. (I wish I could have mailed you a can of Brooklyn Brewery Summer Ale, too!)

For the Vintage portion of swap, I gave her an unopened roll of film (what's film?), a really old postcard from the Hotel St. George and a Palm Beach in Brooklyn Magnet.

For the handmade portion, I sent Natalie some original prints I took in Coney Island, one of the Cyclone, another of a bad ass Brooklyn dude smoking a cigar. I also made her a cool bookmark with old fashioned swimmy ladies on it, and I glue sticked the crap out of the Custom Brooklyn Neighborhood Guide I made and filled it will all sorts of cool maps and brochures of off the beaten path things to do in Kings County, including where to get the best Lobster Rolls and a Green Market Guide!

To carry all the amazing treasures Natalie will find on her local Brooklyn tour, I got her a cool tote bag with a map of Williamsburg and Greenpoint on it that shows all the incredible places to shop and eat in the area.
And Natalie, when you come, let me know, I will come ALL THE WAY FROM QUEENS TO BROOKLYN, to buy you a cocktail at Rye, the best Old Fashioned Cocktail place in the entire city!
